Published in Here Comes the Guide and Span Magazine!

Here Comes the Guide is a great resource for wedding planning-- their "wedding locations and services" source book has some of the most comprehensive venue information of any industry publication, and among wedding coordinators it's about as popular as the Bible (and at least twice as thick) . Anyway, they recently did an article in their local wedding magazine about my friend and colleague Swati Kapoor, who I've shot for a number of times now--if you've read the other posts you'll know Swati is a fashion designer who makes unique and beautiful garments, including but not limited to custom designed one-of-a-kind wedding gowns. She creates her designs by blending Eastern (Indian, African) and Western styles, the result being something that transcends them all. Her designs are especially beautiful to photograph as they are often decorated with semiprecious stones and other sparkly bits that catch the light.

The article and Swati Couture's full page ad both feature images by Cohn Frankel Photography, and here I need to give a big shout out to both Swati and the editors at HCTG for the great job they did attributing a proper photo credit! The book is now sitting with pride of place on my studio desk and those of you who have upcoming meetings with me will, I'm sure, hear ALL about it when you come over. : )

A shorter version of the printed article can be seen here.

Here are some shots from a recent Swati Couture fashion show that I shot. You can see more pictures from the show, as well as from the rest of the huge upscale New Year's Eve party where it took place, here.

My pictures of Swati's work were also published in Span magazine, as part of an article they ran entitled "Coming of Age for the Indian American Community". The article focused on Swati and other Indian-American entrepreneurs in the Bay Area, describing they way in which they are making names for themselves in their chosen fields. It included a shot we did of her helping a client shop for clothes at her showroom in the east bay.

Its great to see Swati acheiving so much success and recognition--she certainly deserves it.
